Manufacturing Field Service Technician

Auburn Hills, MI- The Catalyst Recruiting Group is working global specialty machine tool manufacturing company for the automotive industry. Due to growth and demand for their products, they have a newly created Field Service Technician position open. This position Perform on site electronic, electro-mechanical and minor mechanical repairs on all machinery manufactured by our client. This will incude installing, debugging and adjust the electronic and electromechanical portion of new machines at the customer’s installation site. Submit time, expense, and service reporting documentation in keeping with departmental policies and procedures. Perform all preventative maintenance on machines and suggest engineering changes to improve the performance of the system. To complete detailed report of work performed at service call including collecting customer data per applicable procedure(s). Work closely with customers in identifying their needs and service problems by building a good rapport in order to eliminate future problem areas. Requires travel, both local and out of state, sometimes with little notice, and extensive overtime as necessary to meet customers needs.

REQUIRED An Associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a Bachelors degree preferred. 5+ years experience as a service technician in a manufacturing environment. Expertise in flexible rotor balancing, computer applications for balancing machines, field balancing techniques and/or fluid fill and end of line systems. Abilities in control applications for machine tools and/or test equipment. Programming skills using Allen Bradley components or at least one other manufacturer of PLC is required.
